Aria Mehrabi

Ph.D. Co-founder

Aria Mehrabi lives in Miami, Florida, with his family. He is semi-retired and focused on philanthropy, and in 2014, he received the Medal of Honor from Ellis Island along with other Miami honorees, Phillip Frost and Jorge Perez.

Aria Mehrabi is CEO of Pacific Star Capital (PSC). He co-founded the Real Estate Investment Fund in 2002, investing in retail, office and multi-family properties across the United States. Aria has over 20 years of operating experience in real estate.

Aria began his career in commercial real estate, as Vice President of Acquisitions for an opportunity fund, RPD Catalyst, where he conducted all acquisitions in stabilized and value-add office and industrial projects in 20 different markets across the US. Prior to joining the real estate industry, Aria worked as a risk consultant to the RAND Corporation and also lectured on international economics at Georgetown University. Aria co-authored the book: Iran and Its Place among Nations. (Praeger). His op-eds and articles have appeared in the International Herald Tribune and other major publications. Aria is working on his second book, given his passion for wine, titled, The Ancient Craft: Origins of Winemaking.

An advocate for women’s empowerment and security, Aria founded the Banu Foundation to support grass-roots organizations in the developing world devoted to such causes. He has been an annual contributor to the Protection Project of Johns Hopkins, an organization that supports the State Department and is devoted to halting the practice of female trafficking across the world. Aria’s most recent hobby is his wine ventures in Napa Valley and Mendoza, Argentina, where he is commercially making wine.

Aria received his Ph.D. in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he examined the information revolution and its effects on democratization in the Middle East. He received his Masters in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California (USC), and his BA degree in Political Economy and Minor in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Aria was also a MSFS (Foreign Service) Fellow at Georgetown University.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of USOC (US Olympic Committee), a member of Urban Land Institute, and also serves on the the Advisory Council of Johns Hopkins University SAIS. Dr. Mehrabi also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). As a recent transplant to Miami, and with the aim of participating and contributing to his new community, Aria has joined the Board of Trustees of Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
