Talking to Youth About Human Trafficking

Washington, DC

The Banu Foundation is honored to partner with and support the Washington DC Police Foundation, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in bringing human trafficking safety and awareness to classrooms in Washington, DC.

The vast majority of youth are unaware of the realities of human trafficking and are therefore susceptible to this crime. Additionally, trafficking cases involving children are increasingly difficult to prove because youth victims are unaware that the occurrence constitutes a crime. Our programs are designed to educate children and teenagers so they can recognize, avoid, and report human trafficking to law enforcement and trusted figures.
